SpyIt
SpyIt was an online writing project, centred around a broad narrative. The community project lasted over five years but wound down in 2011.
Our Strategy
The website was our largest project undertaken and lay the foundations for Aranaeum Design. Several bespoke systems were designed in addition to the website frontend, and held interactive profiles for over 400 characters from the narrative and along with a chronology linking the events together. Many aspects of the site were randomised to feature one of the many characters and show their masthead and information alongside the narrative. Systems were created to allow finegrained control of which characters showed up alongside the individuals strands of narrative to ensure relevance and coherency.
Reception
The site grew a loyal community and over one hundred plots were hatched, some running to as many as 1300 contributions deep.
