I'm Rebecca Pearce

Rebecca Pearce needed a personal website to collate and aggregate her social activity from many networks across the web, whether it be on Twitter, LiveJournal or Tumblr. The webiste needed to be no-maintenance, drawing all its content from existing social networks and reflecting new updates and messages as they happened.

Our Strategy

Recognising that each stream of activity was unique, Aranaeum Design set about to retain this individuality, while downplaying its source; allowing the content to speak for itself. This decision not to merge the streams of data into a 'river' of content was also taken in-part because some streams such as Twitter had a high turn-over of content, whilst others such as LiveJournal which is more given to longer posts generally have a longer lifespan.

A light, airy design was chosen, again playing on the notion that for Rebecca's visitors, the content is king. The decision was taken to keep the site a single-page hub, introducing Rebecca for anyone new and leading straight into the latest content, but allowing visitors to follow pieces of content to their originating social network, in such a way allowing them, for example, to become a follower on Twitter.
